WHERE AND WHEN CAN I PICK UP MY BIB?

The Philly 10K Diadora Kickoff Party is THE place to pick up your bib.

Location: Philadelphia Runner Center City - 1711 Walnut Street, Philadelphia PA 19103

Dates & Times: Thursday, August 22nd - Saturday, August 24th between 11AM - 6PM

There is no race day pick-up unless you added this as a paid option during registration. You can add this option at a later date if you’re not sure at the time of registration.

Virtual Only registration includes shipping of the race shirt.

I CAN'T PICK UP MY RACE BIB, CAN A FRIEND Pick Mine UP?

Sure! Just make sure that they have a copy of the confirmation email you were sent when you registered (on your phone works).  A photocopy (or digital picture) of your ID will work too.

I AM COMING IN FROM OUT OF TOWN AND Can't MAKE IT TO THE BIB PICK-UP, HOW CAN I GET MY BIB?

If you (or a friend with the proper information - see above) can’t pick your items up at bib pick-up, there will be race day pick-up available for an additional fee at registration checkout. You can add this option at a later date if you’re not sure at the time of registration.

For last minute issues, please contact info@thephilly10k.com. We cannot guarantee accommodation for anyone who cannot get their bib prior to race day.

What about the heat?

Depending on the year, race morning can be fairly warm. We start our race early to ensure that runners experience cooler temperatures than if we started later however, temperatures on race morning can be warmer than what you are used to racing in. We have additional cool-off methods such as cold sponges at the finish line in addition to 3 water stops on course and bottled water at the finish to ensure proper hydration support for all runners.

IS THE PHILLY 10K A CHARITY RACE?

The Philly 10K is not operated by a charity. We donate a portion of registration proceeds directly to a new charitable cause each year. We also work with some of our closest charitable organization friends to offer fundraising bibs, which allow these partners to raise around $10,000 each year.

Philadelphia Runner, a local running store based in Philadelphia since 2004 and a founding partner of The Philly 10K, supports numerous races, organizations, clubs, and causes in the Philadelphia region every year, working tirelessly to serve the running community and do things the right way.

I’ve HEARD THE COURSE IS A BIT DIFFERENT THIS YEAR. WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

Due to the streeteries that popped up around town in 2020, we’ve made a few minor adjustments. If you ran the race in 2021, you will be familiar with these changes already. The course map can be found here.

WILL THERE BE RACE DAY BIB PICK-UP?

There will be race day pick-up available for an additional fee at registration checkout. You can add this option until August 25th.

CAN I DEFER TO NEXT YEAR?

No, unfortunately we can't offer deferrals to the following year.

CAN I TRANSFER MY BIB?

Yep! BUT…. Please read this very carefully:

If you registered with us and now are unable to run, please refer to the bib transfer information that can be found in your registration confirmation email.

All bib inquires/transfers must be completed by Saturday, July 27th, 2024.  After this date we will not be able to handle any bib requests.

If you have any questions, please email us - info@thephilly10k.com.

CAN I CHECK A BAG AT THE START?

Yes, we will be offering bag check on race morning from 6-7AM.

When you pick up your bib you will receive a clear plastic bag for checking items on race morning. Your items must fit completely into this bag (15" x 18") or your bag will not be accepted. All bags must be checked by 7AM.

ARE strollers or dogs allowed?

No. Due to the nature of the course and for the safety of all race participants, strollers and dogs are not permitted.

HOW DO I GET TO THE START ON RACE MORNING?

Driving to the race is strongly discouraged and we cannot guarantee you will be able to find parking. The best plan is to take public transportation:

SEPTA – Broad Street Line Subway: Get off at the Lombard-South.

PATCO – Get off at the 9th-10th St & Locust St.

I Can't TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO THE RACE, WHERE CAN I PARK?

Parking is very limited for The Philly 10K and virtually impossible near the Start and Finish areas.  Due to the road closures and the extended no parking areas, we suggest looking for street parking on S. Broad St. and other areas outside the perimeter of the course.  We unfortunately can not guarantee designated parking areas.

IS THE RACE WALKER FRIENDLY?

The Philly 10K is a running race. Runners must be able to maintain a 15 minute per mile pace. Those who are unable to maintain a 15 minute pace will be asked to move to the sidewalk by the sweep vehicle. For safety and logistical reasons, course support such as water stations and port o' potties can't be guaranteed for anyone who falls behind this pace. If you think you will not be able to make the 15 minute mile cutoff, please bring extra water!

WHERE CAN FAMILY AND FRIENDS WATCH?

Anywhere! The course is a loop with a Start and Finish that are very close to each other…perfect for catching your runner at multiple locations.  Keep in mind that it runs within dense city neighborhoods, so moving around on foot is the best/only way to do it. We also have three water stations on the course that always need additional volunteers.

We ask that course spectators avoid crowding and use masks if they are in situations where they can’t avoid crowding or are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19.

Email us at info@thephilly10k.com if you are interested in helping out!
